Monitor is a composition written for Robert Ryman's painting of the same name. The composition adds to the experience of viewing the painting by translating its concept to the medium of sound.

With this project, Coen attempts to deepen his understanding of colour. The colour schemes are not hand-picked, but are procedurally generated by an algorithm. Anyone can use the algorithm on the detail page of this project, but once a new colour scheme is generated, or the page is refreshed, the previous colour scheme is lost forever.
